Sure, there is the hurricane season but it ends in November. From mid-November to January, the winds are primarily from the northeast between 15-20 knots. In the month of February, the wind changes its direction and turns southeasterly. The wind speed is 10-15 knots. Thus, it is the ideal time to go on a sailing trip.

Nevertheless, make sure that you watch out for the Christmas Winds that might occur from December to January and are 25-30 knots in speed. Keep in mind that the local seas that are close to the island will have different wind casts based on the geographical make-up of the island.

Planning a Caribbean sailing holiday in the spring or winter months is the best time to witness some wildlife. You will be able to see turtles all throughout the year. In the months of January-September, you might find turtles laying eggs on the beach.  During winter, you will also find thousands of species of birds flying overhead or making their home on the islands.
